How to Register:

  • Choose a course that will support you in your professional growth and development from within our list of topic areas, listed on our monthly calendar, or from within our full course listing
  • Click the "Register Online" button above to register for a course.
    In the form, you will be asked for your contact details, to choose the name of the course you wish to register for, and method of payment (e-transfer, invoice or credit card).

A new way to pay for your courses has arrived! Bringing a more convenient way to pay by credit card.

Registration Information and Regulations:

Applications will be accepted up to 2 days prior to the start date of the course if capacity allows and payment is processed. 

  • Accepted Payment Methods

The program will accept approved payment methods, including:

    • Credit card through Global Payments Link

Global Payment Link lets you make secure payments quickly and easily through a personalized link added to an email you will receive from our team at Executive & Professional Development. It provides a convenient payment experience without requiring you to visit a website.  

    • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): 

E-Transfer is a trusted digital payment method that enables you to send payments directly from your financial institution. Our team will provide you with the steps via email to make the payment.  It offers convenient, secure and easy-to-use experience. 

    • Business Cheque or other approved methods (no personal cheques): 

Not recommended, but our team will be in touch via email to discuss. 

 

  • Payment Deadline:

To reserve your seat in the program, payment should be received with 3 business days of submitting your enrollment application. Once your payment has been received, your seat will be confirmed and secured. 

  • Late or Delayed Payments: 

Course fees are due upon receipt that EPD has received your application. EPD will make efforts to collect payments from you within 3 business days.  Payments must be received in advance of the course, as some courses have pre-work and advanced preparation. Contact epd@smu.ca  if you have questions. 

  • Outstanding Balances: 

Participants with outstanding balances will not be permitted to attend courses until payment has been received in full.

  • Seat Confirmation: 

A course seat is considered fully secured only when:

    • Registration has been completed (registration form with all required info is received by EPD); and
    • Payment has been received in full (ideally within 3 business days of the registration request).
  • Waitlist Applicants

If a participant withdraws or does not meet payment requirements, the available seat will be offered to the next applicant on the waitlist.

  • Refunds, Cancellations, and Transfers:

    • Cancellations received 14 or more days prior to the program start date are eligible for a full refund.
    • Cancellations received between 14 days and 2 days prior to the program start date are eligible for a refund, less a 15% administrative fee.
    • No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than 2 days before the program's start date or for non-attendance.
    • Participants who are unable to attend may request to transfer their registration payment to another EPD course or a future offering of the same course. Transfer requests are subject to availability and to the cancellation policy above.
    • Participants may be substituted if notice is provided at least 1 week in advance of the program's start date.
    • All cancellation and transfer requests must be submitted in writing.
  • Course Re-Scheduling or Cancellations by EPD

    • If there are not sufficient registrations for a course or certificate, Saint Mary's University reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel. In such circumstances, two weeks' notice will be provided to registrants. 
  • Certificates: 

    • Certificates are issued based on a successful completion of a course.  
    • To receive a program certificate for one of our Applied and Professional Certificate programs, please contact epd@smu.ca to complete the required application. 

 

  • Fees/dates are listed on each program page. Fees include program material and a course certificate .
  • Fees, dates and facilitators are subject to change.

 

  • Exceptions

    The program reserves the right to make exceptions to these policies in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of program management.
